Smart Sand Inc. - Van Hook Terminal

Hires employees telling them it's long term work and then lays them off 2 months later when slowed down. Many of the operators loading trucks are also under the influence of drugs and often overfill boxes. I do not recommend this terminal as you probably will wait a good 30 minutes to get loaded and then get overfilled by some guy who's under the influence.

Facilty itself isnt bad, but the loaders apparently can not read or load you properly to the specs you give them. your either way underweight or way overweight have tried to address the issue multiple times but management doest listen nor care. Management has told me in the past if you don't like how we load you go somewhere else. Kinda hard to go somewhere else when the company that your hauling for purchases the sand and I'm just contracted to haul it. I wouldn't be posting this if it were possible to unload sand with my set up or if they would take responsibility for the overweight tickets neither of which are apparently possible.

Hit or miss depending on who the operater is a few guys are good and get the right amount in but also got loaded 10k short go back inline and roll out still light taking 2 hours to load. Always a lot of trucks, wait times can get ridiculous

If you want the worst drivers on your pads, this is the place for you. They handle the sand so horribly average wait time to unload is 6 hours. The only trucking companies willing to work for them are the cheapest least experienced drivers and worst condition trucks you’ll find in the Bakken. None of the quality carriers will haul to their locations.

I hope they piss in their toilets better than they get the sand in the holes of the sandboxes.
