If I could give zero stars I would. I scheduled a one ton delivery two weeks ago complete with my card information. The day of delivery they never came, when I called they had "no record" of my delivery being scheduled. They rescheduled for a few days later, the morning of my new delivery date I got a phone call just before they were supposed to arrive to say "I'm sorry my boss said we can't deliver to you because you didn't order enough gravel". There is no gravel minimum listed anywhere on their website and this is the first time after several times speaking with many people at this company that I have heard from this. The woman apologized and said "Im sorry this is just what my boss told me this morning and I've never heard him deny delivery before. He told me to tell you to just hire a landscaping company to deliver some gravel to you". To which I replied, " i live in worley and there is no company within thirty miles from me, you are only ONE MILE from my house and a local company at that which is why I wanted to give you my business." It is a flat fee of $150 for the first hour no matter the tonnage to deliver gravel and I was happy to pay that fee to a locally owned company that is literally one mile from my house. However they obviously did not value my time business or money. I would never recommend this business to anyone. I do want to note that the driving company that contracts for Peak was wonderful. They told me they have never heard of a load minimum and delivered my gravel to me anyway and I paid them directly for it. I'm thankful for the driver and his driving company for their kindness.
I recently ordered gravel from Peak Sand and Gravel and was extremely disappointed with the experience. I was charged for 1.5 hours of delivery time, which is completely inaccurate. I drove the same route myself โ itโs a 20-minute trip, and the delivery itself took less than 10 minutes. Even with a buffer, it doesn't come close to 1.5 hours. I was told the driver would call me when leaving the quarry, but that never happened. I had also informed the company of a faster turnaround point directly across the street from my property, yet they chose a longer route. My neighbor, using the same driveway, had gravel delivered in under an hour. To make matters worse, I was told that sales tax would only apply to materials, yet my invoice shows tax charged on the entire amount, including delivery. Thatโs misleading and unacceptable. Iโm building a home and was prepared to spend tens of thousands of dollars on gravel and rock. Instead, Iโve taken my business elsewhere. This company lost a long-term customer over their need to get a short term gain.
Peak sand and gravel is top notch and their products and services speak for themselves! Locally owned and involved in local community. Look no further than Peak for your construction needs!
The staff here was extremely helpful & friendly! I just needed a small amount of gravel to fill-up some canopy tent weight bags. I'm sure it was a very small order, compared to the usual multi-ton orders for large jobs. I know a lot of companies that wouldn't have even given me the time of day. However, I was treated like a valued customer anyway. Thank you for the great experience.
Find a local driver to haul for you instead of paying them their hourly rates just to further help their monopoly. Crooks!
