I don’t take it likely on giving a bad review. I had ordered 12 yards of top soil. It’s been a year and a half September 2021. I paid over $400 with delivery. I had a excavation company spread it out for me and seed and fertilized. I noticed that the soil looked dried and brittle. But time gave me my answer. The soil turned out to be fill dirt. Bad for grass. I find myself having to now purchase compost to have to till the soil and do it myself to avoid the big cost. I did tell them I wanted good soil so I can then plant grass on top. And it’s not like I don’t know how to grow nice grass. Pictures below. Just wanted to share. The delivery was on time. The driver did what he had to. Just disappointed that it it going to cost me double plus all the manual labor to do it after I paid professional to do it with heavy equipment for me. This is all my work with grass. The back is just dried up fill dirt. If I ordered top soil and paid for it. Then that’s what I wanted. Disappointing!
3 yards of mulch looks significantly less here than it does at Cross Creek. After you place your order, they communicate to the loader how much mulch was ordered, but the loader always seems to be to never know how much mulch was ordered. So the communication isn’t that good or the loaders are incompetent. We also experienced a time when the loader admittedly shorted us thinking we ordered lesser than what we received. We came back and they resolved the issue without any quarrels. The guys are nice there as well. Simply based on the volume of mulch given by the yard has me going elsewhere for my business but I won’t totally count them out just yet.
Spent $600 dollars for 15 yards topsoil filled with trash , rocks, and clay. Called and complained, and it took me calling back 3 times to reach the owner. He was very nice and sent us 5 free yards of compost, which was also filled with trash and mulch. We found a 6 inch nail this past weekend in the soil. It's just a mess. Please don't shop here for soil unless you're picking it up yourself. Apparently, the product they send on delivery trucks is Garbage. I was reassured that this soil would be fine to grow vegetables in, and half my garden is dying. Felt very gaslit, like I haven't been a gardener for 5 years and I don't know how soil looks. Grey cracking soil is not normal. Nor is the copious amount of garbage I've been pulling out.
