One of their semi drivers with a chip trailer almost ran me off the road in my electrical utility vehicle this morning 2/18/25 on rt 9 in Sullivan. I appreciate the rush but putting people in danger is bad driving. He continued to drive erratically around other drivers for the remainder of my drive behind him. Next time I’ll just call the dot enforcement on them. Blatant disregard for public safety is something that shouldn’t happen while behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle.

I first started working with the late Don Hardwick in the early 1980's, as a forester with SPNHF. I was impressed with the quality of his work and the willingness to cut and remove large amounts of low grade wood on rough, rocky, and sometimes steep ground. Over the years, I had the pleasure of working with his dad, brothers Chuck, David, and John, then, more often than not, his sons Don Jr. and Joe and on occasions Ben and Jeb. On one job in a remote part of Stoddard, I had the pleasure of working with THREE generations of Hardwicks. Over the years and on more jobs than I can count, they cut millions of board feet of timber, thousands of tons and cords of low-grade soft and hardwood, treating hundreds upon hundreds of acres and the results were ALL the same: consistent high-quality results; timely completion of the job done in an orderly; systematic manner, prompt and fair payment of stumpage; landings, truck roads, and some main skid trails that were left in an attractive and appealing manner, rather than the cluttered eyesores, helping to establish a new industry standard. Not once, over the nearly 40 years and countless jobs, have I ever experienced an unpleasant moment or any kind of crises. That speaks volumes to their character and professionalism. Land harvested include remote, difficult woodlots to residential tree removal where thousands of board feet were gingerly removed and the logging debris completely cleaned up to my clients delight. Two prideful moments I have been able to share with the Hardwicks: 1) appearing on the cover of Northern Logger Magazine with Don Sr.; 2) presenting them with the 2004 coveted NH Timberland Owner's Logger of the Year award. In the memorable words of the late Don Hardwick Sr.: "When you think of steep slopes, rocky ground, and low grade: think of D.H. Hardwick and Sons". I do! I recommend their work unconditionally!

This was the second time we have used Hardwick & Sons for a land clearing job and we couldn't be happier. They carried out the forestry as planned, timbering and stumping a house lot and restoring an old pasture. Communication during the job was outstanding and they worked with us to get the most bang for our buck and staying within budget even though the stumping work was very extensive. Friendly and efficient!

Our property suffered from last year’s high winds and loosened up or fell a good portion of older maple trees many of which became lodged into other trees or were dangerously close to our house and garage. We contacted D.H. Hardwick and Sons to remediate our situation. Their work was professionally completed as they cleaned out our problem which included a delicate removal of a rotting tree with the potential of dropping on a portion of our house or chicken coop. They had great interaction with us and the utmost concern for our buildings, gardens, driveway and trees we wanted to keep. We would happily recommend them to take care of your tree cutting requirements.

We recently had our property logged by DH Hardwick and sons. Very impressed with their attention to a managed harvest that was sensitive to the the environment. Their work also took into consideration maximizing future growth. If you see any of their previous cuts you will be impressed with the end results.
