The ladies working the desk acted all put out because this rock place works different than the place I normal go. There are no signs just her yelling at me from the window. I get it, I screwed up, but jeezus. However the guy that was running the tractor that loaded my rocks, he was freaking amazing. I have a short box and he was so careful with the loader not to drop rocks in the paint. A true master of that machine.
Huge thanks to Alex at The Rock Place for helping my son set up his volunteer project! Alex helped him brainstorm, figure out material needs, and stayed with us every step of the way to building a new dry creek bed using river rock and antique river stone out at a local summer camp to help stop erosion by a well-used water spigot. Great team on the phones as well -- everyone was super helpful!
Great selection, lots of good help thanks
*update* After I posted this the owner looked me up on LinkedIn but didn’t say anything which is pretty creepy in my opinion. Also, when I was at The Rock Place the owner was standing next to his employees while I was trying to purchase something from them. When he came to talk to me I asked him if he heard the interaction with his employees and his answer was no. So I don’t understand how this person can tell me that my experience at his business (that he didn’t hear or see) was embellished. I really don’t appreciate as a customer and consumer being called a liar. What a strange and disrespectful response. How can you tell someone they have an inaccurate review when they explain their experience. Wow 🤦♂️ I went to The Rock place mid day to look at purchasing fire pit stones for a diy project. The salesman was great. I went to purchase the items I found and the teller started working with me. She didn’t understand anything I was explaining to her and let 5 customers go infront of me while I was trying to make the purchase. She got every single thing incorrect then told me the price. It was $540 for 53 small fire pit stones. I said there’s no way that’s the price. She asked the supervisor to look at the transaction. The lady glanced at the paperwork for a half a second and confirmed it was the correct price. I said so it’s over $9 a stone? She laughed at me and said we don’t do the math. I asked to speak to the owner and she kept talking rudely to me. I walked away to wait for the owner, who was standing behind his workers the whole time I was talking to them. He was not sympathetic, was very rude to me and didn’t care at all. I told him what happened and he didn’t care, I said I have shopped there 5 times this year already and I will no longer be a customer and he said ok and walked away from me, never apologizing. This place is rice gouging people and only about profit. I will never shop there again. The funny thing is we were going to use them to get $15k in retaining wall materials. But they could care less.
Not only do they have an impressive range of rock, their people are amazing.
