Ordered 30 yards of gravel. Drew a cordon of adequate size for a single load around the drop site, marked with 4' stakes, pink flags, and yellow nylon cord. Gave specific instructions. Was reassured by the sales person that my preparation looked and sounded good. Driver arrived and pulled my stake from the ground, and dumped the load ontop several newly planted forsythia bushes, and atop many blooming lupin plants, nowhere close to the cordoned off area. I used to drive a bucket truck for treework. So I get how it goes. But this was just sloppy. Called 5 or 6 times over 2 weeks to resolve the grievance. I have been ignored time and time again. So here's the review.
I repair hardpack driveways for a living and I've used several businesses in the area to supply me with material. Now, I only use Twin State! They have great material, the drivers they use are professional and stand by their work and they do what they say they're going to do. I can't ask for much more than that
They are fine if you have a truck and know what you need. However the first time I needed something delivered I got a different experience. Customer service is not good. If you are a homeowner who needs smaller quantities look elsewhere or find a truck to borrow. They are short with you over the phone and give incomplete information by email. Delivery fees are outrageous. I paid 75 dollars in delivery fees and I live 2.7 miles away. (update: if I had been given the customer service and information that was stated in the response to this review I would have been much happier with my transaction, unfortunately I was not treated this way when dealing directly with the company only after posting a review to google. When inquiring by email and phone about ordering a ton of material it was never suggested that it would be much more cost effective to find a way to pick it up myself. Then in trying to gain understanding for my options of future purchases I was told I should look elsewhere for my needs. My delivery was originally scheduled for a saturday delivery but due to an opening in schedule it came during the week. I tried to clarify if that affected the price but never received that clarification.)
Open to residential loads as well--I just bring my pickup. You can shovel yourself (yikes! $5 minimum charge) or they will quickly load for you via a front loader. Pull around the building and onto the scale. Tell the very friendly folks at the window what you want (they can help you figure it out), and they will direct you to the pile for loading. After loading, get back on the scale and pay via cash or credit card. Super fast, in and out in
Open to homeowners. Very friendly and way cheaper than buying bags from Home Depot. Highly recommend
