I got garden bed soil from this place and it’s such poor quality. When I spoke to someone from this company they said it’s sifted, mixed with compost and ready for garden beds. But when I received it, it’s so full of mulch and very little soil with no compost. All the seedling I planted turned yellow and died within a week. Very poor quality!
The five yards of topsoil I got would have been great if it didn’t have concrete throughout much of it. (The purchase and hauling was all done through a reliable, highly rated third party.) I have two videos of all the concrete I had to pick out of it, and requested some (not even all) my money back. AF’s response is that “all sales are final” and that it should have been noticed before leaving the yard. So, dig through the load in the back of a dump trailer to see what might be under the surface before leaving the yard? That doesn’t make sense. It’s a sad thing when a business won’t stand by their product and won’t do what is right when their product isn’t as advertised.
American farms gets me taken care of every time. I dump all my concrete and dirt here and also get all my Top soil for job sites.
What a waste of time. I had few branches that couldn’t go to waste management so I drove over here. The sign says $10 a yard. The owner said $10 a yard. When I arrived they said $20 minimum. I understand he gets to make his own rules, but he should post them too. Shady isn’t the way to run a business.
I’ve had several trucks come across my property fully loaded with a very small bridge that’s 8 inches thick concrete with 2 inch thick steel rebar in it and never had a problem. I tried to save $200 by go into these guys and used recycled material instead of real crushed stone and they cried about the truck being brand new and they don’t want to risk their truck going across the bridge, but they’ll dump some of it on the street and then the rest of the property and when I agreed to that and gave them a liability waiver, they said now we’re just dumping on the street. We’re scared to go on your property over the bridge. Then I said well I can’t dump it in the street because the city won’t like it so they said Well we’re going to charge you a $250 dry run fee. The material was only 450 so you’re charging me 50% of the material for a dry run fee because I wouldn’t let you dump it at the street which is not my property. These guys are a piece of work I’ve tried to set this up a dozen times because I bought a bunch of tile from his dad and I guess they don’t know how to Deliver material. I would go Vulcan material every day of the week and pay the extra 200 bucks those guys don’t mind hustling and getting things done. They have put a bind in my job on three occasions and I finally get it delivered and coordinated and they throw a wrench into the entire process. Then they tell me they’ve got three people in the office and one guy in a truck working on this, deciding whether or not to dump it so you’ve got four people working on a decision whether or not to dump a truckload of material? That’s pretty ridiculous. I’ve got one guy working on it me that says go ahead and drive across the driveway. I’ll give you full liability off because I know that it will hold it. I will never call this company again under any circumstances stray away and beware!!!
