I’ve gone through champion for all of my dirt needs the past three years. The quality of the soil in the past has been superb AEB my garden beds thriving. However, this year I’m disappointed with what I received. The dirt itself is riddled with small pieces of trash and plastic. I’ve found small pieces of torn plastic bags, cardboard, hard bits of plastic, and even torn fabrics pieces. Every shovel scoop I took I was trying my best to pick the pieces of plastic out that I could find on the surface but at a certain point I gave up doing that because it was too hard. The dirt quality this year also seems not as good as in prior years as there are a lot of clumps of clay soil and rocks in it. I can’t recommend it and will probably not be buying from this vendor anymore. I’ve attached pictures showing some of the bigger pieces I found that would be easier to see but trust when I say there are micro plastics riddled throughout this soil.
We have had a fantastic experience with Champion. Excellent customer service and great employees. They have always been prompt with an excellent product and service.
My son lives out of town and ordered a load of firewood to be delivered to me today. It came first thing this morning and the delivery man was very nice and dumped it exactly where I asked. I went out this afternoon to move some into the garage to dry when I realized about half the pieces are too big for the fireplace and certainly heavier than I can carry. I’m used to carrying several pieces of regularly split wood at a time. I will now have to pay someone with a chain saw to cut the wood for me. It looks high quality and well seasoned, just not fireplace ready.🔥 Very disappointed👵🏻
Instantly greeted with rudeness and unprofessionalism as soon as I entered only to find out that they royally screwed up an order that was already paid for! I had to stop them from loading my truck after I realized that the previous scoop was full of mud which I removed myself. Then they sent me to another one of their locations in Englewood to get the remaining material that they should have had since it was ordered and paid for only 2 days prior. Once I got to that location I find out that this location told them that I was owed 1 ton less than what I supposed to be getting. And that guy was also incredibly rude and unprofessional and acted like a if the entire scenario was my fault. As is typical with most places, the employees on the lower rungs of the ladder were affable, helpful, and honest and the higher ups couldn't be bothered with dealing with their own inadequacies.
Our usual firewood guy retired this year so we decided to give champion a try since they are a mile from our house. We ordered 1 cord of firewood to burn in a buckstove insert over winter. Ordering and delivery was easy and straight forward. The problem enters when the wood that is delivered is NOT seasoned firewood nor is it split to fit most indoor fireplaces or buckstove. The wood appears to be split for use in an outdoor open fire pit. We spent the rest of our day splitting over 80% of the wood to make it useable firewood to heat a home. Hopefully now it's split it will dry out enough to produce usable heat. We will not be ordering from this company again and now have a year to find a better option.
