I needed about 5 tons of gravel for my garden and my truck could handle one ton at a time. Using the yard at Holcim was super easy. Once I let the front desk know I was coming back for more loads they said I just needed to head straight to the scale. The front loader operator was exceptionally skilled, always loading only one side of his bucket so it wouldn’t hit the sides of my bed, and also kept the middle of the pile towards my cab so it was as close to an even spread between my axles. So I was able to carry more than originally planned. The prices per pound were comparable to other yards in the area but it was the ease of picking up my sled that saved a ton of money. If I need other yard coverage material in the future I will be headed back here.
