I ordered screened topsoil and explained I was installing grass seed and sod. I was told topsoil was fine just didn't have compost mixed in. I received trashy fill dirt with 4-12 inch chunks of hard dirt, rocks, wire, roots, wood and excess gravel like pebbles. 3 of us spent 3days sifting through the pile to get quality dirt

Well just want to say I am not done. I am loving it! I purchased 6 boulder rocks for my yard, now I started a whole project and can't wait to see the outcome

I hate to write a terrible review, but I must. I bought one cubic yard of "topsoil". I wanted to put some topsoil in my yard for fall reseeding. The topsoil was full of weed seeds as shown in the photos below. There was nutsedge and onions among all the other weed seeds. I had to spray the entire area with Weed-b-Gone to kill the weeds.

Ordered triple shredded hardwood mulch and it was sour. Killed a majority of my plants. When called to let them know they did absolutely nothing to make it right. Not even an apology. Very disappointed with the lack of quality and customer service. We’ve been long time customers but probably not anymore. Delivery driver was great though - the star is for him.

Super-pleasant order with delivery from the Rock Shop! Got 15 cubic yards of compost delivered in way-North Durham. Placed my order last week over the phone and it was delivered right on time today - they gave me a 2 hour window. Didn't even notice the driver had arrived until my dog let out a little bark -- the driver (sorry, didn't catch his name) had backed up perfectly to my tarped-off spot and expertly unloaded the full truck exactly where I wanted it. Looks to be fairly fine compost -- I'm using it in my raised garden beds and doesn't look like I'll have to screen it too much. Total order with delivery, taxes, came to $720. Will definitely order from them again next year!
