The staff is absolutely amazing. They have most all your needs when it comes to landscaping, etc... They have a very competitive pricing scale. Along with high-end brand products to choose from.

Built some great garden boxes, asked for the best garden soil they had to offer, price was not an issue, didn't notice until I was already home and unloading that it is terrible :( A friend said he did the same and it was the same terrible soil :( So disappointing, now my garden is struggling with this horrible soil I will need to pull out or heavily mitigate next season.....

The “best”, most expensive soil mix (which for some reason) they don’t list in their price sheet is a hydrophobic mess. We ordered eight yards of it (and needed more), but when we started working it, it became apparent it was hydrophobic. No matter how many hundreds of gallons we tried to pour onto, creating little ditches to try for the water to not bead up and run off, mulching it, NOTHING was working. The dirt also would not compact but simply spread. The only thing that worked was to manually mix by hand water and dirt, which, in the scheme of quantities is impossible (unless you would use some kinds of a commercial cement mixer), at which point the dirt became mud-like clay substance that felt and had qualities of concrete and clay (not conducive to planting trees, grass, etc.) Calling to get answers and troubleshoot did not help. The man who answered told me I was dumb and I’m supposed to till the topsoil. After explaining to him the problem in more detail, he called me offensive names and stopped talking, so I had to hang up. This is the second time we buy dirt from Ewing. First time, it was 6years ago under a different ownership, it was a similar product. I was assured that they have better products now, that that’s why we need a MIX of compost and topsoil, yet this time around, it was even harder to work with. We are left with heavily supplementing the topsoil with hundreds of bags of good dirt from Home Depot. Save yourself time and nerves (money too, but it’s a lot more expensive to buy from a hardware store… still don’t hesitate!) At least if you get a few or many pallets of dirt from the store, they stand by their product and it actually works. Ewing - you disappoint us once again. As for other products - we chose a different supplier for recycled concrete because Ewing was too expensive; we went with another local supplier for deco stone because Ewing was too expensive and didn’t have good selection; we went with a different supplier for variety of other products because Ewing’s staff was rude when one of my clients called to ask a question about best product, and they treated him like an idiot; we went with another supplier when they were rude to my business partner and essentially disregarded any simple requests he had made when he drove over with his equipment to pick up an order he had discussed on the phone. The customer service and the lack of support for existing customers is terrifying. I know it’s just one review, and it will most likely not affect how this company does business, but this is disheartening how little every person I’ve interacted with from Ewing cares about their existing commercial customers. They treat non-business customers with even more disrespect and lack of care. Take your business to someone who cares.

What a cool eco friendly business. My first time here. We lost quite a few large tree limbs over the winter from heavy snow, just returned from AZ for the summer, and today was the day to clean up and dispose. Loaded up the utility trailer and headed for Hageman. The operation is set up like a small landfill. Very well organized, very professional, very well maintained, very consumer friendly whether you're dumping recyclable tree, shrub or mowed grass clippings; or buying their recycled products like mulch or firewood. The place was lined up with vehicles but the line moves fast. The employee manning the drive up window was helpful and friendly. I was in and out in about five minutes.
