Rogers Group Inc. - West Huntsville Quarry

This "small" rock quarry has quickly grown into a huge quarry with a cement plant. In the last few months they have also been running far into the night, and possibly all night, several days a week. We can hear it from our bedroom even with a noise maker on, and our house isn't even as close as some! I'm not sure how this quarry is legal considering its proximity to residential areas (well over 100 houses within a 1 mile radius).

As a homeowner within a mile of the quarry, the worst part is the trucks messing up nearby roads, especially at the pull-out intersection of the quarry. Grey and Newby Road meet there. There are always rocks and holes at that intersection. The explosions always give a good adrenaline rush but aren't bad from my house. But the noise at night is awful. Rather than the night sounds of nature, it's machinery. On the website, it says they work with the community. It must be communities outside of their immediate surroundings. Unfortunately, this group chose to be here, and I don't know when they finish and move on.

Where do we lodge a complaint to get rid of this place? Ruining the roads, constantly leaving rocks from the plant all the way to 72 and not to mention fully loaded trucks leaving this place ignoring the weight restricted bridge on Browns Ferry. Company is asking for someone on a motorcycle to slip on the rocks at the intersection and sue them.

Dump trucks drive unsafe . Overloaded trucks have spill over with rock on the road and side of the road . Not to mention the blasting that happens .
