My husband passed away two years ago from Pulmonary Fibrosis. This disease which manifests itself by difficulty breathing. His last 3 to 4 years were so horrible. Pulmonary Fibrosis can be caused by inhaling silica which scars the lungs. Silica is found in limestone mining. Jim worked at Greer Limestone when he was in his upper teens and in high school in Masontown where he lived. The entire area was completely covered with white limestone dust. He would tell me that he and his friend who also worked there could not see one another because of the limestone dust when they would fill trucks with limestone. A warning to those who work there. Has Greer Limestone taken precautions to protect their employees?
I get that it is a mine, but does it have to leak stuff into the river?
