The plants are plentiful and there's a great variety. So much more than just plants in the store. Tools, seed, feed, decor, fertilizer, birding goods, etc. A little bit of everything. The staff is always available and knowledgeable. I have never not been approached by a staff member. Usually talk to me at least two or three times, and always friendly. Great prices on plants too, and usually healthier than elsewhere.
Absolutely love the selection here. And maybe even more importantly, THE PEOPLE. Daniel did a great job of wrapping our tree so it would get home in one piece. We didn't lose a leaf. I live in Winston-Salem but this is my garden center of choice. Keep up the great work Ralph!
Definitely one of my favorite nurseries in all of North Carolina to visit and support. I have been going there for five years now and I always find the staff incredibly helpful not to mention the plants are very hearty. They have great trees and shrubs, along with seeds of all varieties. I will definitely continue to frequent the shop and suggest it to others as well.
I really wanted to like this place, but they don't really offer anything you cant get cheaper at the big box stores or online. I was hoping to find more plant diversity or even some natives, but unfortunately its all the same plants everyone else has. For roses i recommend Witherspoon's in Durham, for other plants try Pikes.
I love this place! I am fairly new to gardening and these people are great. They are always willing to stop and answer questions. They are always willing to help me, even if most of the time I am a little lost. This is one stop place for all of your gardening and landscaping needs. Think a real farmers market, minus ready-made food or ready-to-eat produce, and you have this place. Small mom and pops place but pack a big store punch. In addition to my many other purchases, I have ordered mulch a few times from this place. They are very generous with their scoops. Yes, some things might be a little more expensive, but for the most part, Soviero's is cheaper [or on par] compared to the corporate outfits. One note - their fruits and veggie starters are the cheapest in the area, by far and away. I believe the cultivate most of the fruit/veggie plants, but I might be wrong there. I had great success with all of my veggie plants in the spring. I just planted a few pounds of onions and garlic [from Soviero's] and I am excited to see how they turn out. I could keep writing about this place.. You should stop what you are doing NOW and go give them a visit!
