Horizon Stone Supply

This rating is based on the fact that Wingate Supply has been purchased by Horizon and is going through liquidation in order to prepare for the upcoming changes. Inventories are extremely low and many of the products once sold are no longer available and are not being replenished. The once beautifully landscaped grounds are unkept and deteriorating in preparation for upcoming change. As yet, I do not know what is coming. There is a blue side to Horizon mostly having to do with pools and pool services. Windgate will not be a part of that, no more fountains, pool/pond products and landscaping statues. What inventory is left is discounted and the inside area is almost empty. They continue to do business, wholesale and retail, selling rocks, sand, soils and mulches. What is to come, I am unsure, we will see.

Really nice people. I go often for crushed concrete cause my truck is small and I get 1/2 yard at a time. I have gotten top soil also. Good quality product, fair price and good people.

I have ordered material from Wingate on 2 occasions now. After getting quotes from other local suppliers, I found their prices to be very competitive. They have good service and deliveries were on time. I especially like their “planting soil.” Most suppliers only have fill dirt, top soil, sand, and potting soil. Their planting soil has more compost and other material than typical top soil and it’s ideal for planting new shrubs, trees, and other plants in the ground.

This company serves its community in ways that have a huge impact. With a hurricane coming in a few days, my husband stayed behind to prep but had difficulty getting sandbags from the city. Horizon Stone Supply sponsored a sandbag station on Davis Island that enabled my husband to get materials to protect our home. We are so grateful to Horizon for setting this up. When the hurricane is long gone, I want people reading this to know what a wonderful company this is. Horizon- Thank you so much for your generosity and for supporting the community.
