I ordered a yard of sifted topsoil, but what I received was full of rocks, wood, glass, and plastic. After initially trying to double the delivery fee (despite being only three miles away), they charged my card without permission to save it on file. Patty, the owner, was kind and sent a second load, but it was just as bad. When I called, Larry was rude, refused to send anyone to inspect it, and blamed me for the issue, saying I got an “extra yard for free.” I would’ve preferred one clean load instead of two full of debris. Poor quality, shady billing practices, and terrible customer service. Avoid this company.

I ordered two truckloads of garden soil from Earthworks. A total of 20 yards. I really didn’t want to leave a review, but if the other gardener I’d spoken with had left one then I would never have ordered from them…so here I am. The good: they’re helpful and friendly. Their service is prompt. I’d honestly probably still use them for basic supplies like stone or mulch. The bad: The first batch looked ok, but growth is slow and the soil tends to compact. I’m having to heavily amend and condition the soil to make it usable. The second batch was awful. It’s mostly clay and has huge hard chunks mixed in. It compacts after watering or rain and chokes roots. The healthy seed starts I grow basically go out to the garden to die. It’s going to take me years to amend properly. I sent it off for a soil test and the ph is off and it requires nitrogen and potassium. When ordering a product called garden soil I expect better. I had my suspicions when it was delivered and called. The person I spoke to told me that it was fine and some garden soil just looked more clay colored. If you need a ton of soil, it’s affordable but you’ll be spending to make it usable, so choose wisely.

Super friendly people. Office helped with decisions on what dirt I needed for my project. Also helped with quantity. They loaded me promptly and efficiently. Quick in and out. My go to place now. Great selection of dirts, rocks, and mulches.

We ordered mulch this afternoon, and it was delivered by 3:30 the same day. Everyone I spoke with at the company was helpful and kind. The gentleman that brought the truck of mulch was very kind and impressive maneuvering up our driveway. Will definitely use again!

Definitely disappointed. I stopped in a few days ago with my kids and they were helpful in explaining the different soil options for my garden. I sent my husband today around 3:15 to get that soil only to find it closed with no one answering the phones ...they are supposed to close at 4. I had to send my husband today instead of the weekend because we had a death in the family and he has to go out of town. Totally a waste of both trips and now I need to find garden soil somewhere else and I won't be able to work on it this weekend like I planned....
