They have rocks! Big. Tiny and in between, mulch, sand, bricks blocks and pavers. Some of the boulders and flagstones are quite nice and the prices are ok but the older guy running it might take a lesson on… making money… I guess too much to ask for a person to buy a few buckets of product that they sell “only by the scoop”, even though I made it clear that I need no special help or attention and offered to pay double right away. When you have a parking lot full of stone piles, some priced by the pound, others by the scoop, it seems quite silly to send me and money away, especially considering how much I was willing compromise, all while overhearing them gracefully deal with an obviously very picky, hard to satisfy wife, she said she just “doesn’t like Kentucky rocks!” to her poor hubby, they satisfied her and literally told me they “don’t want to deal with that” in response to my request. It’s a shame, now I’ll have to keep driving to Lexington to get what I need. Funny thing is, I was buying for myself today, but when I’m landscaping on someone else’s dime, I’m now far less inclined to call on them even tho they’ve been an asset to me in the past, they are not the only game in town. Seems like the Frankfort location had better prices, I know they have more selection and nicer looking options there anyway. Either way, when your job is to sell rocks it’s pretty weird to refuse to sell them to me in an unconventional quantity. In general they’re pretty good, and I’m sure I’ll use them again when I need truckloads of sand or mulch as long as they remain cheap and convenient, but it seems like a good time for me to find a more friendly alternative, or at least one willing to compromise. I’m sure he’ll be able to keep making payments on that shiny clean pickup… I reckon my Camry gets more off-road time. Cheers👎
We had excellent service, the prices were great & delivery was super fast! My large landscaping project is done and I couldn’t be happier!
Customer service is very friendly. Pricing was decent. My main issue is that now both myself and my dad got scoops of rock that were absolutely filthy and caked with mud and dirt. I understand rock isn't going to be perfectly clean, but I shouldn't have to spray off every shovel of rock to the degree in which I had to. Update: Called Christy today to discuss the matters I had. She was extremely helpful and offered a refund on half of what I paid for. Therefore I will adjust my star rating to 4. Mistakes sometimes happen, but not all businesses go to the trouble of rectifying them the way Christy did. I really appreciate it!
As a landscape contractor, it’s nice to have a supplier that can provide top quality products and service across multiple cities. Thomas is always easy to work with, and they have the best mulch I have ever seen. Good shred to it, lots of variety, and it doesn’t lose its color after a couple rains like mulch I’ve got from competitors. They can also deliver small or large amounts, and can get even more products from their Frankfort location which is massive. Only place we buy from now, and we do about 150 scoops a year.
I got two small scoops of mulch!! He made sure it was level with the bucket 😳 it’s so much less than the previous year!! I won’t be back!!!
