The "garden grow" that you can purchase is sub-par quality. Missouri is full of very clay heavy soil and wherever they are pulling this stuff from is no exception. The soil was clay cut with some manure and sand, more than likely but it is not what is advertised. Please see my pictures to see exactly what you get. The website shows photos of very dark garden soil but what you will receive is a light brown, dry, mix. This soil will take years to fix properly and almost double the cost due to how much organic matter you will need to add to get this right. I will update the review with a soil test soon and let everyone know the percentages of clay, silt, and sand once a representative sample is taken. I would avoid this business for their garden grow soil alone. I'm sure mulch is fine and other products. Their customer service is good to work with as well but they need to be real about what they are selling. I have wasted $243 on what I thought would get me a good start to the year. This "soil" will retain water on the top two inches which is extremely poor permeability which WILL choke out anything you want to plant in this stuff.
Heaping truckloads of mulch for best price around. Rented a pickup from U-Haul and moved mulch and rock all day. They will deliver for a price, but I just liked being able to save money and drive the mulch around my yard. Mulch was way better quality than bagged mulch from Menards, Home Depot, or Lowes. I was surprised by how cheap their products were considering the great quality I was getting.
Office staff were very helpful in advising what and how much I needed for my project. Driver was particularly skilled at maneuvering a huge truck to the exact place I needed my dirt dumped. And I got some spectacular worms in my dirt as a bonus. Recommend.
This place is very friendly and their mulch is definitely the best here in town.
We ordered 5 yards of "Garden Grow" for our new raised beds. It's supposed to 70% topsoil, 30% compost, but it contains so much clay that our sprouts are struggling to break through the crusty surface of the soil. We emailed them with pictures weeks ago to express our disappointment, but never received a response. We're trying to amend the soil in an attempt to salvage the growing season.
