I just used Advanced Surfaces for my paver patios. I wanted a newer look and I wanted them sealed and colored. They use a sealer that is also a stain with a color pigment of your choosing so no chance of cracking or peeling, just fading over time. Kevin came out and gave me a great price. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. These guys did a great job. They finished the job weeks ahead of time. The alternative was replacing my pavers for over $10,000 and that was just the pool patio. These guys treated all 5 areas for a fraction of that cost. They made my patios look new again. Thanks Kevin !! These folks come highly recommended.
I could not be happier with this company! I had a job done with the products they sell, 3 years ago, but it was done by a different contractor. It was a good product but the job was not good. I called this year and Kevin came out to look at my project, patio deck and driveway and sidewalks and gave me an estimate. We reviewed what could not be fixed that was done by the first contractor, but he was honest about what could be done. Using the same sealer material they fixed cracks and resealed the driveway better than the original. The patio deck is 100% improvement over what had been done previously. I am very pleased with the process from the beginning to the end. They show up when they say, they completed the work as promised and Kevin called to follow up with me to see if I was satisfied. Customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this company's products and would only hire them to use the product. Thank you.
I like the family that owns the business and I think they have some good products, but my experience with the actual installation might be a cautionary tale for anyone thinking about using their service. In July of 2017 we visited their showroom and liked what we saw. We signed the first contract at the end of July and the second (just for the paver sealing) in September. Between the 2 contracts it was a total of $27,242 and we were using quite a few of their products (paver seal, Armorthane on concrete floor, and URO faux stone surface on a large outdoor area). Targeted start date in the agreements was in September. They started mid-October. The project was only supposed to take a couple of weeks. The project was still going on in March of 2018. In December I raised some concerns with them. 1) Grout appeared to have very different shades. 2) The flakes and clear coating on the Armorthane appeared very uneven. 3) There was a lot of cleanup required by us the homeowner (concrete on walls, windows, fences, and in the bottom of the pool). 4) The workers had a tendency to work when they wanted, so you never knew what the day was going to bring (ie would people show up and work or not). In February of 2018, their first attempt to resolve the different grout colors was to come out with a standard grinder and try to remove just the grout in the problem areas. This did not work, so they roughed up part of the surface and re-applied the coating to just those areas (building up the surface even more causing it to look more like a patch job than a single even application of a product). This work continued through March. In May 2018 a new problem developed, something they called spider cracks (small cracks highlighted in the surface any time it rained). When I brought this to their attention, we went through several visits, and the decision was that the only solution would be to break up the whole surface and start over. My wife absolutely refused to have them come back to work because of the amount of time they took in doing their work and the mess they made while working. I asked for an offer of what they would feel was a reasonable discount for everything I had been through (to recap, that is 6 months of an off and on project, it was the mess they left that we had to clean up, it was uneven grout colors, a job that looked patched instead of single new application, a high end garage floor coating that looked very uneven, and spider cracks in the URO surface). They offered $4,008.58 on a $27,242 job (approximately 15%), which was significantly lower than I had suggested would be reasonable for work that was clearly not premium work. To their credit, they wanted to come back out and completely redo the surface to make it right. While that probably would have been my choice, I have to agree with my wife that our marriage probably would not have survived another few months of the work and mess only to find out if the mistakes the first two times were just a fluke. I have included pictures so you can get an idea of what I am talking about. As I said in the beginning, the family that owns the business is very nice, this review is not meant to disparage them. Their constant theme was that they wanted to come back out and make it right. The problem is that no one from management ever really came out to look at it or manage the workers. I am pretty sure that the workers are all independent contractors, which is why no one from management at Advanced Surfaces would actually come out to manage the process. If the surfaces had been done right, I would have believed this was a great value for the money. As it stands now I have a patched, uneven surfaces with spider cracks that I get to live with, and the discount they offered was significantly below what I shared with them and felt was reasonable considering the challenges with the project.
Great service and selection of all flooring coatings.
Great customer service! As a Gulf Coast DIY'er, Advanced Surfaces, Inc. is the only supplier I could find in South FLA that still provides the epoxy kit for resealing my Chattahoochee Stone patio. They even provided detailed step-by-step instructions. The project is half way finished and it is looking better than I could've hoped for. Thanks, Advanced Surfaces!
