Fortunately I haven't had any clients want or need sod in December but I'll be damn if it wasn't green and lush and good quality cuts delivered in a timely manner now that I have ordered 14 pallets worth on the 2nd wk of December.

The Mexican guy who was loading the grass acted like he was giving it away for free. He tried to give me really bad and broken pieces. When I said something, he told me to go to Home Depot if I wanted good grass. I’m paying $3 per sod—I'm not getting it for free!

I bought grass from here last year, 3 pallets of brown grass were delivered! Needless to say most of the St. Augustine died off. The manager came by to check on it and agreed to replace the grass, but not the installation costs! Happy to say that the replacement grass has survived. I bought around 40 pieces of Bermuda grass after calling to make sure it was a fresh delivery. Half the grass is brown! A1Grass has lost all integrity in my opinion. How can freshly cut Bermuda grass look like this! There is always an excuse for the grass not surviving and it’s never their fault. Lowe’s sold me green grass (picture #2) and I will not be going back to A1 again. They are cheaper than the ‘big box’ companies for a reason.

On May 11, 2024, I made a visit to A1 Grass in Plano (1320 14th St, Plano, TX 75074) with the intention of purchasing a pallet of grass. Not being an expert in the field of grass varieties, my decision was largely influenced by the visual appeal of the top layer of grass on the pallet, which seemed to blend well with the existing grass on my property. I was further convinced by the assurance that the grass would flourish with just 3-4 hours of direct sunlight daily. The pallet I selected was identified as St. Augustine grass. However, the first layer of the pallet did not display the typical attributes of St. Augustine grass - the blades were not broad, lush, or tall. My disappointment escalated when I discovered at home that all the other layers, with the exception of the first one, were of a completely different variety. This was far from what I had expected. I attempted to return the untouched pallet to A1 Grass, hoping for a product exchange or refund. However, they declined my request, referring to their “no return, no refund” policy. This experience left me feeling not just dissatisfied, but also deceived. I am sharing my experience in the hope that it will assist future customers in making more informed decisions. Please be aware of potential inconsistencies in product quality and the rigid return policy at A1 Grass. In the attached picture, the top image showcases grass from the uppermost layer, while the bottom image represents all other layers. It’s quite evident that these are two distinct types of grass. However, the salesperson, with a smile, kept insisting, "No, this is absolutely the same grass".
