Rindge Stone & Gravel

We have ordered mulch last year. People seemed friendly. We decided to do business with them again. To my surprise they attached a $100 delivery charge per truckload of gravel. They expect the same charge for the second load. Granted we’re not far at all. Exactly 4.7 miles. Not even 5 miles away. I took out last year’s receipt. Delivery was $70. Still on the high side. But this time it was outrageous **$100**. I like to know how you justify this charge. For labor and distance or just plain taking advantage. Refused to pay $200. They offered $20 off. I have the sewage guy coming next week from Hudson. and he’s going to earn his labor charge of $60 plus maintenance. I’m out of my wits over this initial $200 delivery fee. Public service warning!!! If anyone in the future plan to order any types of services, be sure to ask what other fees you could expect. I did not appreciate that they’re not transparent upfront about that charge until they dropped the load on the driveway. Lesson learned here. Never again. 11/11/24- here’s last year’s receipt from your company for proof. Correction: It was top soil, not mulch.
