AAA Valley Gravel

I used AAA because Central closed early on Sat. Went to the pit run pit with the loader operator and there were a lot of boulders at the bottom of where he was digging out the pit run. He seemed to be moving them to get access to fresh pit run material, but ended up scooping up a lot of big boulders. I could hear them banging when loading. Lots of them. I thought, last run of the year, I’ll deal with it. Then I go to pay and they informed me they have a minimum. $60 for 5 yards of crappy pit run???? Almost twice what central charges. 10x the boulders? Last run of the season, so I just figured I get it and be done. Complained about all the boulders, and she could care less. As I was driving away, I turned around to get a refund. The big boss was there and he shrugged it off as, “ it’s pit run.” Told him it was boulder run and I did not want his crappy material. Dumped it back in the pit, he followed me out to watch but he could clearly see the load was nothing but boulders on top. Crappy material, grumpy boss man, over priced. Made me appreciate Central Gravel folks and material. Won’t be back, ever. I’ve only got a 5 yard dump, and haul for my small personal projects. Maybe that’s why they acted the way they did?

Prices are consistently lower than other gravel pits around the valley and staff has always been extremely helpful when I have questions.
